E, to the fifth power
We went to our nephew’s fifth birthday party today, held at the Children’s Museum. Ethan was quite excited and eager to run around the grounds when we arrived. As soon as I’d set down our present, he wanted me to join him at the castle. He was the good guy and I was the bad guy (sigh, typical typecasting for the big guy with the shaved head) and I proceed to try to get him. Mind you, we both ‘had armor’ so it was okay to stab each other in the brain. I couldn’t get him interested in the other displays, including a pretty cool Rube Goldberg style fort that allowed you to send whiffle balls everywhich way.
The party proper was held in one of two rooms for events, named One Potato and Two Potato. I guess this is how the staff at the front desk posed the question to guests.
“I’m here for the birthday party.”
“One Potato? Two Potato?”
“Um, yeah, I’ll find it myself. Thanks.”
There were a few kids from his preschool. All but one were girls. I guess Ethan is quite the little man about the Belmont Academy. He’s young still so let’s hope it doesn’t go to his head.

E-man, surrounded by his Betties.

The gift bags had bubble rings (shown)
and giant Lemonhead candies (effects shown).

Just wanted to comment on the fabulous pic of Sydney, if she had just moved the ring over one finger it would be a perfect reflection of how she’ll likely be when she’s 13. I noticed also that one more time I have shown up in the background of someone else’s photo doing some bizarre thing with my hands and with an equally bizarre expression on my face. I swear I should stand perfectly still at parties and never do anything but smile politely. This would insure that I would never show up in any photos. Anyway, enjoying the blog. Chanin
